Structural container berths renovation and realization of third railway for cranes on the container wharf in gioia tauro harbour. Detailed and construction design
Due to an ever increasing number of large ships, it became necessary to deepen the quay berths till 17 m water depth. In cooperation with the constructor Franco Giuseppe S.r.l., our company won the contract for works of the reinforcement of 1066 metres of the existing quay.
TZERO is involved in the detailed and construction design of structural container berths renovation due to deepen the berth and realization of the third railway for cranes on the container wharf in Gioia Tauro harbour. The reinforcement consist of a new reinforced concrete wall anchored to the existing wall and a basement treatment with jet grouting technology. The contract also provides the construction of a new railway crane for containers and the reconstruction of the pavement in the back areas, the system drainage and the network facilities:
The detailed design regard the following works:
- Dredging to the -17m and to the – 14 m water depth
- New reinforced concrete wall anchored to the existing wall
- Basement treatment with jet grouting technology;
- New railway crane for containers
- Drainage system
- Reconstruction of the pavement in the back areas
- Equipment and utilities
